Using Close Reading To Prepare For High School Or College Essays

Using Close Reading To Prepare For High School Or College EssaysSample close viewing essay projects are an essential component of any high school or college writing project. Close-up reading enables a student to gain some comprehension of the argument and the content of the essay. However, in many cases, students do not get enough close-up exposure to gain these necessary skills.A writing tool such as close viewing allows for a student to read, understand, and grasp the main points of the essay without having to take the whole thing in hand. The essay is presented and read from the point of view of the close viewer. This opens up a person's ability to begin the writing process.Students will discover that they are much more creative when they use close reading to augment their writing. It lets them get their thoughts down on paper without going back and forth with the writing process. As a result, students will learn to relate their ideas to what they have read. There are many advantag es to using close reading in the classroom. When students are close to the topic, they can clearly identify the central point of the essay. This allows them to focus and work on that specific idea, rather than becoming distracted by supporting evidence. As a result, they can gain insight from different approaches, instead of simply taking a viewpoint and writing about it. If a student wants to present a point of view, he or she will use close reading to present a different perspective. Students will find that this way of presenting a point of view provides more of a well-rounded view of the topic. There are three different approaches to close reading that all students should master. A student should know how to establish and support his or her viewpoint and then break it down. Once he or she has established a perspective, he or she should then break down that perspective into separate ideas that support that perspective. This will give the student much more freedom to be creative with close reading. It will also allow the student to see a number of different angles that he or she might not have been aware of before. This will let the student take advantage of the features of close reading and take it to the next level. Finally, close reading will allow a student to understand more of the points being made. They can read and understand the direction in which the information is headed in the future. In addition, the student will be better able to relate the argument and the meaning of the argument to other aspects of the text. If the close reader takes everything in his or her stride, the student will become a more creative writer and will build a stronger base for their essays in the future.
